Our winner this quarter was Pathways to Education Kingston who empower high school youth in North Kingston with tools to succeed in school, work and life. A part of Kingston Community Health Centres. Here are their plans for our donation:
Technology upgrade for programs $5000: (ideas: Chromebooks, IPads, VR headset/program, sound bar, charging stations). Our current fleet of refurbished computers were donated to our program in 2011. We’ll purchase new computers with your support.
Food for programs $1000: We now serve dinner instead of just snacks at tutoring. We have over 120 student visits to our two tutoring sites per week!
Grade 7&8 outreach $1000: We traditionally only support high school students. This year we’ll support grade 7 & 8 classes at Molly Brant and St. Francis of Assisi schools.
GRAD Connector $2000: Some students need extra support to get back on track. Our GRAD Connector is creating life skills based classes where students will earn high school credits through experiential learning to build tangibles skills like financial literacy.
Pathways leadership academy $1000: We have students that are in leadership roles in our program. They advise our work and even sit on hiring panels. We will take these students on a wilderness retreat to hone their leadership skills.

3rd Quarter Meeting 2018
Our 3rd quarter charity winner is "St. Andrews Presbyterian Church." Our member Alex Druskis provided a very heart felt speech and won the votes. St. Andrews provide hot meals for those in NEED on Sunday's (AKA Sunday Suppers or Special Meals) and is one of the few places in the city that does so. It's open to both men and women and they are in desperate need of a new kitchen. The City has recently come in and closed down the kitchen, saying that it is not to standard to serve food to the public. The program is based on all volunteers, with no government funding. Another thing to note: Other local organizations that benefit throughout the week from the use of St. Andrew's kitchen include, Kingston Street Mission and The Mess.
